This is a precise copy of a figurine of a long jump athlete dated to around 500 BC. He is naked, just as young men would have been when exercising in antiquity. He has an athletic body, and in his clenched palms, he would have held dumbbells, the stone or lead weights used by the jumpers to give more impetus to their body during the competitions. An athlete probably dedicated the figurine to the Acropolis Sanctuary following a victory, most likely in the Panathenaic Festival games.

Material: Copper on plexiglass base. Enviromentally friendly techniques and materials.
