This elegant long silk chiffon scarf is inspired directly by the two acroteria of the Parthenon, the decorative architectural fixtures that sat on the peaks of the temple’s roof. This classical scarf delivered to you in the Acropolis Museum branded scarf envelope. Also available in beige or pale blue.

The acroteria were decorative architectural pieces placed on the roofs of Greek temples, at the peaks of their two pediments. They usually took the form of an anthemion - hybrid floral designs based on the acanthus and the palm leaf, like that of the central acroterion of the Parthenon seen reconstructed in the Museum’s Parthenon gallery. The reconstruction incorporates the surviving fragments from the Parthenon’s two acroteria.
