The two acroteria of the Parthenon inspire the design of this elegant long silk chiffon scarf. These decorative architectural fixtures sat on the peaks of the temple's two pediments. The acroteria were decorative architectural pieces placed on the roofs of Greek temples, at the peaks of their two pediments. They usually took the form of an anthemion - hybrid floral designs based on the acanthus and the palm leaf, like that of the central acroterion of the Parthenon seen reconstructed in the Museum’s Parthenon gallery. The reconstruction incorporates the surviving fragments from the Parthenon’s two acroteria.
