Among the hundreds of dedications discovered at the Sanctuary of the Nymphe, the protectress of Marriage were also clay plaques decorated with scenes from nature, myth and ancient ceremonies. The original plaque, which no longer survives in its entirety, depicts a procession. Two women walk behind a man in a long robe. One woman holds a wreath and a fruit, and the other a lotus flower and a branch. You can see the original in display case 6 in the Museum’s gallery of the Acropolis Slopes.
