The building remains that were discovered during the excavation of the Museum site belong to an ancient Athenian neighborhood. Located on the continuation of the southern slope of the Acropolis, the site hosted human life and activity from the 4th millennium BC until the 12th century AD. Part of the excavation is now uniquely integrated into the Museum's architecture. Visitors can tour the excavation site and also view the archaeological remains from inside the Museum through the vast expanses of glass on the ground floor.
