The youth with a dolphin is a fifth-century BC figurine from the decoration of a bronze vessel. It provides the designer's inspiration for the motif of this serious and playful silk tie. It is delivered to you in the Museum’s branded tie envelope. Also available in blue.

The small bronze figurine of a nude youth travelling astride a dolphin once adorned the handle of a large bronze vessel. Dolphins held a special place in the life and the arts of the seafaring Greeks, and the topic of a youth on a dolphin, was particularly popular. You can see the original in display case 28 of the Museum’s gallery of the archaic Acropolis.
