The excavations on the Museum site brought to light the remains of roads, ancient houses, baths and wells of a neighborhood that grew there in the shadow of the Acropolis, between the 4th millennium BC and the twelfth century AD. This testament to the human presence on the site is now part of the Museum’s exhibition program, uniquely integrated into the Museum’s architecture. It can be viewed both through the expanses of ground-level glass floor in the Museum or by a separate visit to the site itself.
