Shipping

The E-Shop of the Acropolis Museum works with the Hellenic Post Parcel Service for deliveries within Greece and DHL Hellas for deliveries outside Greece.

Processing of Your Order and Payment

When you have completed your order, you will receive a confirmation email with your order number. The processing of your order begins the moment your payment is successfully credited to the Museum, and you are sent an email confirming this.   

After the E-Shop dispatches your order, you will be sent a further email with your package(s) tracking number. You can use this tracking number to follow the progress of your orders’ shipping.

Please note that if your order includes many items, or if the items you have ordered are varied in size, they may be sent to you in different packages. Shipping costs, however, are calculated based on the total weight of your order and you are charged once.

Shipping costs

The shipping costs for your orders are calculated on the total weight and volume of your ordered goods, as well as the delivery destination prior to the finalization of your order.  Due to the differing volume of some goods, your order may be dispatched in separate packages.   In that case, the shipping cost is charged on the total weight of the order.  

International Customers (including European Union): For all destinations outside of Greece, the shipping cost is affected by the nature of the shipping service you have selected (standard or express delivery).

Customers outside the European Union: Customers ordering to a location outside the European Union may have additional costs arising from customs duties and import taxes. These may vary from country to country. The Acropolis Museum E-Shop cannot know these costs, nor does it take responsibility for these.  You are responsible for these charges, and they are not included in shipping costs. Separate provisions apply to orders destined for the United Kingdom.

Customers in the United Kingdom: Deliveries to and from the United Kingdom have an extra charge of 6.20€ for total orders of goods weighing up to 20 kilos and an additional 0.25 € per kilo for heavier packages. 

Cast Copies – Overweight Shipments: For orders outside of Greece, there are additional costs for heavy or oversized volume items. Orders with a weight greater than 70 kilos have an additional fee of 99.20 €, and parcels with a dimension over 120 cm have an additional cost of 24.80 €. Where both apply, the higher price is incurred.

Cast copies of Chios Kore, Peplos Kore and Kritios Boy are considered non stackable freight and are transferred by DHL separately. There is therefore an additional charge of 217€ to all destinations outside Greece for these large replicas.

*All the listed shipping prices include the Value Added Tax (VAT).

Insurance

For items or total orders of high value additional insurance is available at a cost from the Courier Services, in order to ensure full insurance for your selected items.
